Should I replace or clean the air ducts?

Each task covers different needs. If the ducts are in good condition (free of cracks), air duct cleaning should suffice! You should consider air duct replacement only if the ducts are not insulated or are extensively damaged. These are good reasons for having them replaced.

What does kitchen exhaust hood maintenance involve?

The exterior is cleaned carefully. The grease filter is thoroughly washed. Grease is also removed from the exhaust vent. The vent is checked for damage and fixed or changed if needed. Our technicians recommend that carbon filters are typically replaced annually. The internal components are checked and cleaned, repaired or changed, if necessary.

Can a regular household cleaner be used for HVAC unit cleaning?

No, this isn’t a good idea at all. There are specially formulated products for the outdoor unit and separate ones for the indoor one. They work effectively and cannot cause harm when used correctly. It’s crucial not to mix them up however as the outdoor unit cleaners are dangerous to apply indoors. Generally, HVAC maintenance is not something to experiment with.

When is more frequent HVAC air filter replacement required?

If your filter has lower MERV rating, you will need to change it more often. This is also recommended if you have smokers or pets in your house as tobacco smoke particles and dandruff are major air pollutants. More frequent replacement is a must when you have household members suffering from allergies or respiratory conditions.
